Cold, not only here

We are expecting cold north winds with possible snow in the Ozarks this weekend.  Nothing like the lake effect snow that the northeast is getting.  It will be too cold to enjoy the fire pit.  My parents live in central Florida and the low there was around the freezing point these past few days.

I have still ridden to work, decked out with triple-layer gloves and the amfibs and triple layer upper body gear.  Wind chill makes the fingers a bit cold, but the commute is short enough that this is no problem.  I enjoy the dark morning rides.  Early morning traffic is visible with their headlights, etc.  Some of the people out I see time and again.  I have started to greet some of them, especially the inner city couple that walk their dog.  The afternoons warm up enough to be almost balmy in my view.

I noticed on a sunrise/sunset chart that the time for sunset begins to occur later, starting this weekend.  Thank the Lord, I am ready for more sunlight in the evening.

Stay happy,

About rlhoover

A perspective on life and cycling in the Ozarks. I started serious cycling in 2008, after seeing my wife be on the bike for a few years. We have biked many places and hope to continue. I am no where near being a real good cyclist, but I have fun trying to improve. Who am I kidding? Me? Improve??
