Hold your hat and tie down small dogs

Wind.  Windy.  Perfect day for a ride.  Again, wind.

That sums up the ride this morning.  After getting some errands done, I hauled out the Bianchi, aired up the tires and took out east of town.  I pretty much followed a previous route, but with a few additions.  Every once in a while I turned down a Farm Road just to see where it went.  This gave me more knowledge of FR’s 148, 199 [south of Sunshine], and 207.  I also found a way to ride around the climb starting west on FR 138 [Cherry] and Wagner Rd.  I was pleased with the condition of the roads, e.g., no pot holes, gravel or grit left over from our recent snow, and there was minimal snow melt that makes for a wet ride.  Also, there was not much traffic to deal with.  With a breeze one can figure on a headwind or tailwind.  But today, it seemed like Headwind Most Of The Way. Sometimes My Speed+Headwind>50 mph.  But that was OK.  This is why I ride, to enjoy the outdoors, no matter the conditions. This was a promise of good rides to come; my wife and I are blessed to live in the Ozarks with such a variety of riding terrain.

About rlhoover

A perspective on life and cycling in the Ozarks. I started serious cycling in 2008, after seeing my wife be on the bike for a few years. We have biked many places and hope to continue. I am no where near being a real good cyclist, but I have fun trying to improve. Who am I kidding? Me? Improve??
