My route home takes me by Bingham Elementary School.  I got to know the crossing guard a few months back and have greeted him by a wave or sometimes by stopping to chat.  On Friday he waved me down to let me know that he was working his last day.  He and his wife were going to Texas for a few months and when he returns he will not resume this responsibility.

We talked about our children, the Cardinals, and other things before I headed on.

Blessings on you, Mike and the best of luck to you and your wife.

So long, MIke. Have a good time in Texas.

Stay happy,

About rlhoover

A perspective on life and cycling in the Ozarks. I started serious cycling in 2008, after seeing my wife be on the bike for a few years. We have biked many places and hope to continue. I am no where near being a real good cyclist, but I have fun trying to improve. Who am I kidding? Me? Improve??

  1. Pretty cool stuff. I live a block from an elementary school, and if I ride out during the morning hours when kids are going to class, the crossing guard holds the cars, after the kids have crossed, to let me proceed safely.
