An ersatz cyclist

We visited St. Louis last weekend.  We stayed with friends whose friendship dates back into the sixties.

We ate at an Indian (the sub-continent type) restaurant, visited the Soulard Farmer’s Market and went to Plowshares on west Delmar in U City.  Much fun.

We saw many, many cyclists of all types and plenty of bicycle lanes.  I was even surprised to find news of the Criterium du Dauphine in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  We would never see anything like that in our local paper.

This gadding about along with a big storm (we had wide spread power outages for a while) that passed through Missouri on Monday kept me off the cycle for four days.  It was no surprise to find a spider web on the Steed this morning during the commute to work.  A cleaning was necessary and things got back to normal.

Stay happy,

About rlhoover

A perspective on life and cycling in the Ozarks. I started serious cycling in 2008, after seeing my wife be on the bike for a few years. We have biked many places and hope to continue. I am no where near being a real good cyclist, but I have fun trying to improve. Who am I kidding? Me? Improve??

  1. The occasional spider web on your bike may indicate that you have a life off of two wheels – which isn’t a bad thing at all.
