View from the saddle – June 20, 2013

Not really a view from my saddle, more like from my desk at work.

A friend came by to show me his arm.

I agreed not to use his name.  He had been riding the sidewalks in his neighborhood and a metal bar that was sticking out caught his handlebars and he crashed.  The break was not found on the first set of x-rays.  He is post-op now.

Based on Jan’s similar experience in 2004 [she was avoiding poison ivy that was reaching out to grab her] I told him that the rehab would be painful and that he would find out what he was made of.

Stay happy,

About rlhoover

A perspective on life and cycling in the Ozarks. I started serious cycling in 2008, after seeing my wife be on the bike for a few years. We have biked many places and hope to continue. I am no where near being a real good cyclist, but I have fun trying to improve. Who am I kidding? Me? Improve??
